I made chicken and rice followed by banana custard from Students' cookbook by Molly Lodge. Not very interesting, so no photos.
I decided that, as my cookbooks roughly fall into seven categories, I should use one from each category for each block of a fifth of my collection (you may or may not remember that I'm allowing myself a new book every time I've done a fifth of my books).
Categories are:
British/Irish
Rest of Europe
East Asia
Rest of World
Cakes and Baking
General Vegetarian
Everything else
I suppose I could make the East Asia category be just Asia, but the Rest of World category is really small. On the other hand, 4 of the next 6 books I want fit into that category. So, this round I've used general vegetarian and everything else, and tomorrow I'm cooking from "Kirsten's cookbook which comes under 'everything else'.
